Homeschooling Program 

This program is designed for students who are receiving homeschooling education and have interest in developing their skills in various mediums. Throughout this program students will strengthen their fundamental techniques, and build their skills to work on advanced projects. Students will be encouraged to follow lesson plans that will help strengthen their foundational knowledge, but they may also bring in the knowledge that they have through homeschooling to create and design innovative projects. 

We offer individual or group class (5 students max) packages, and each package includes 5 sessions. In the case that a student is signed up for two packages (ex. Drawing + Painting), there will be a 10% discount on the final price. Prices differ between Beginner, Intermediate and Advanced levels, please take a look at the example lesson plans to see if the student is capable of successfully completing the lesson. 

Please keep in mind that these classes will be held only at Glenview School of Arts and fill out the registration form under ‘Enroll’ on our website if you are interested in signing up for the program. Any inquires will be taken through glenviewschoolofarts@gmail.com 

Make-Up Classes

There is a limit of one (1) make-up class per student per session.
Contacting the school email at least 48 hours in advance is required in order to arrange for a make-up.

In the event of a school closure, such as due to inclement weather, we will offer a make-up class. Any such classes will be made-up at the end of the session, and parents will be emailed a schedule.

Class Description

Drawing

Beginner

This class is designed for students who want to develop their drawing skills by strengthening their foundational techniques. Throughout the session students will build upon their fundamental drawing skills and focus on basic drawing concepts including form, line, value, color and composition. Not only will they improve their artistic skills, but they will also be able to start exploring their specific artistic goals during this process.

1 Session: $250 (5 classes)

Intermediate

This class is designed for students who want to develop their drawing skills based on the foundational knowledge that they have. Throughout the session students will strengthen and build upon their knowledge of basic skills, particularly composition. Students will have an opportunity to continue exploring their specific artistic goals during this process, and they will also have an opportunity to challenge themselves. 

1 Session: $275 (5 classes)

Advanced

This class is designed for students who already have a strong foundational basis, and have extensive experience in drawing. Students will have the opportunity to set challenging goals and learn to think ‘outside of the box’. Students will create interesting compositions by doing intensive research in the concepts that they want to explore. 

1 Session: $300 (5 classes)

Painting

Beginner

This class is designed for students who want to develop their painting skills by strengthening their foundational techniques. Throughout the session students will be introduced to a variety of wet mediums, starting off with watercolor and then moving into acrylic. The key concepts that will be emphasized include color mixing, blending, and paint brush stroke application. 

1 Session: $300 (5 classes)

Intermediate

This class is designed for students who want to develop their painting skills based on the foundational knowledge that they have. Throughout the session students will expand their knowledge of basic painting skills, and begin to shift more into the creation of composition. Students will also have an opportunity to create more depth and meaning in their work, while exploring a variety of styles that inspire them.

1 Session: $310 (5 classes)

Advanced

This class is designed for students who already have a strong foundational basis, and have extensive experience in painting. Students will have the opportunity to set challenging goals and also have the opportunity to explore more challenging mediums such as oil painting. Students will create interesting compositions by doing intensive research in the concepts that they want to explore. 

1 Session: $375 (5 classes)

Multimedia

This class is designed for students who want to develop their multimedia skills by transforming their knowledge of working 2D into 3D. Students will learn how to observe from a 3D perspective and learn different ways to combine various materials. Students will have an opportunity to use construction paper, air dry clay, wire, and paper-mâché. They will start off with the creation of basic structures and then move into making more abstract forms. 

1 Session: $310 (5 classes)  

Ceramics

This class is designed for students who want to develop their ceramic techniques and they will learn how to make functional and decorative ceramics by hand. Basic ceramic skills will be taught and strengthened such as coiling, pinching and modeling. After they have mastered the basic techniques they will have an opportunity to create more complex structures.
